![]() Hmm… I’d need to test this myself to be able to provide useful info, but one thing that comes to mind is - maybe mp3tag is not “saving” the tag information to the files before you import them into the Music app? If you bring up Finder, highlight a “tagged” file, right-click and select Get Info, can you see the tags you assigned in the file itself? The tracks I was trying to import were all in WAV, which explains why Music wasn't picking anything up. I had no idea about this limitation prior to posting and didn't think a popular file format would throw up an issue as basic as this. Thanks!ĮDIT (29/10/21) - For anyone coming across this in the future.turns out Apple Music won't read tags from WAV files. Can anyone think why not?Īny advice would be warmly received. Even real basic stuff like Album Name is ignored (I have to select all the newly imported tracks, right click -> get info -> add album name just to get all the newly imported tracks into a single album) Note that I'm dragging in the newly tagged files my assumption here is that Apple Music-with no previous memory of these tracks-would simply read the newly written tag data and load in the files correctly. ![]() Drag newly tagged files from Finder into Apple MusicĪpple Music doesn't seem to recognise any of the new tag data.Apply changes when correct tag data is found. Drag music files from Finder into mp3tag, search Discogs/MusicBrainz for correct album data.Could someone explain what I'm missing here? My current workflow: When trying to import the tracks into Apple Music, none of the newly updated tags are showing. The CDs were ripped years ago and I don't recall what software I used to rip (but it wasn't iTunes.) As my old CDs don't have tag information, I'm using mp3tag to update all my tags there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with this app - it updates tags and album artwork as expected. I'm trying to add my old CD collection to Apple Music but I'm having a bit of a nightmare. This is a fan-run community and is in no way authorized, sponsored, or endorsed by Apple.
